Michael Willis is a world champion big wave surfer and ocean safety expert known for his historic surfing on “Biggest Wednesday” January 28, 1998, in Hawaii, the biggest day ever ridden. Alongside his twin brother Milton Willis, Michael helped pioneer extreme big wave surfing and has been recognized for his skill, courage, and contributions to ocean safety and rip current education. The Willis brothers are also accomplished authors and have co-written 100 Foot Wave: The Official Book, which explores the culture, history, dangers, and spiritual aspects of giant wave surfing, as well as innovations in surfboard design and training for the sport.
